The
1000 year reign of Christ or Millenium
The Bible talks of this period very clearly in
Revelation 20. It is a 1000 year period after the 2nd coming of Christ to
earth.
It starts after the Antichrist, the False prophet
and their armies have been destroyed. Also the devil or satan has been bound by
an angel from heaven with a great chain and thrown into the bottomless pit and
set a seal upon him that he be there for a thousand years. (Revelation
20:1,2,3)
He will no longer have the power to deceive the
nations until after the 1000 years when he will be loosed out of the pit for a
short while. (Revelation 20:7)
Satan then will again go out to deceive the nations
of the earth and gather together men who dislike Christ's rule (during the Millennium).
Then with a very large army Satan surrounds
Satan is finally cast into the lake of fire where
the beast (the Antichrist) and false prophet have already been thrown. There
they will be tormented day and night for ever. (Revelation 20:10)
The 1000 yr reign of Christ will be between the 2nd
coming and the New Heaven and New Earth.
Daniel
Zechariah 14:9 asserts the same. Here it says,
"And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be
one Lord, and his name one."
In Ezekiel 34:23 we read, "And I will set up
one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, evern my servant David: he
shall feed them, and he shall be their Shepherd."
Thus David will rule as King under Christ (King of
Kings) over
Mathew
In Luke 22:30, Jesus tells His deiciples, "That
ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the
twelve tribes of
There will be only one universal religion and
worship will be to the only one living God. Micah 4:3 also speaks of total
peace during the reign of Christ. Isaiah 2:4 speaks of Christ teaching people
the way of peace, so no nation will rise against another and no more will
anyone learn to fight and war.
Isaiah 65: 20-22 gives some excellent insight into
the day-to-day living in the Millennium. "There shall be no more thence an
infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child
shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall
be accursed. And they shall build houses and inhabit them; and they shall plant
vineyards, and eat the fruit of them."
So if one doesn't sin or rebel against Christ during
His regin, he or she can live for 200, 500 or more years. A person who
completes 100 years is compared to a child of now. Men and women will live and
be as aged as trees. (Isaiah 65:22) Death at a younger age will still be a
reality in the Millennium for those rebelling against Christ.
Prayer life continues and immediate answers to
prayers is another reality in the Millennium.
Isaiah 65:25 speaks of how God will transforme
animals too in the Millennium. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and
the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's
meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.
Isaiah 11: 6-8 also speaks of the transformation of
the wild beasts and reptiles tamed by the Messiah. "The wolf also shall
dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall die down with the kid and the calf
and the young lion and fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
And the cow and the bear shall fed; their young ones shall lie down together;
and the lion shall eat straw like an ox. And the sucking child shall play on
the hole of the asp, and the waned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice
den."
The Bible says in Isaiah 30;26, "Moreover the
light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun
shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days……." This means that the
days then will be 7 times more brighter than now and the nights then as the
days now.
But Christ will be the everlasting light during the
Millennium.
The sun and moon remain in their places not seen as
rising or setting and truly it will be the glory of Christ that gives the light
all around. (Isaiah 60:19,20)
Christ will rule with all his saints (old and new
testament) for a 1000 years on earth. There will be many people still left on
earth at the 2nd coming of Christ who will not have taken the mark of the beast
or have escaped from him by the Lord's Grace or be at remote places of the
earth far from the Antichrist's center of rule or escaped from the plagues,
earth quakes and other perils during the Tribulation. Some of these people (who
have been faithful to the Lord) will multiply and inherit all the earth with
Christ and his saints as rulers.
A few of these will rebel with satan at the end of
the 1000 yr. rule of Christ.
There is a 1000 yr. gap between the 1st and 2nd
resurrections. This is clearly mentioned in Revelation20: 4,5. At the end of
the 1000 years, the 2nd resurrection takes place. Here we have the Great White
Throne Judgement after satan has been cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation
20:10,11)
All the dead (out of Christ), having died rejecting
Christ or having died unknowingly stand before God for their final judgements.
Here, books are opened, also the book of life and every man is judged according
to things written in the books; and who so ever was not found written in the
book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This is the 2nd Death. (Revelation
20:12-15)
The 2nd death has no power on the ones resurrected
at the 1st resurrection (Revelation 20:6) They live on in eternity.
Friend, what would you like? The choice is your's.
Escape during Rapture (as Christ puts it in Luke 21:36) and live on earth with
David, Abraham, Moses and the likes under Christ as king for a 1000 years and
then live on for eternity in a New Heaven and a New Earth.
Or
Wait for the tribulation and its tragedies. To be a
martyr for Christ or to escape all the judgements of God during Tribulation
will really require the "Grace of God" to be overflowing in your
lives.
Or
Perish once now and perish then again (2nd Death)
Why wait for the Tribulation or why be doomed to
lake the fire? "Today is the day of decision. Cry out to God. "Turn
us again, O Lord god of hosts, cause they face to shine: and we shall be
saved." (Psalm 80: 3,7,19) Then you can say, "The Lord is my defence,
and my god is the rock of my refuge" (Psalm 94:22)
