You will be prosperous and successful Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.( Joshua 1:8) Why would God place such a great emphasis on the Book of the Law in Joshua's life? God tells him -Do not let it depart from your mouth -Mediate on it day and night -Be careful to do everything written in it And the reward for doing so was prosperity and success in Joshua's life. Sadly many believers do not give much importance to reading or mediating God's Word. And that is a great loss in their lives. Jesus said, It is written "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4) Many believers spend too much time thinking and meditating on "bread" rather than on "God's word" If the word never must depart from your mouth, it has to be inside you, I guess. And how can it get inside you? By meditating on it day and night. Read the blessings for a person who meditates on the Word of God day and night. In Psalms 1 we ready, "He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither, whatever he does prospers." (v.3) Is your life like that? If not, take a decision today. Read more of the Word. Meditate on it. Do not let it depart from your mouth. Be careful to do everything written in it that a believer has to. And then you will prosper and succeed in everything that you do. That was the promise of God for Joshua and that is His promise for us today. |
