You will be secure You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. (Job 11: 18) Security is a problem in our days. Everyone needs it but most are not sure of having it. Yet the Bible says, "You will be secure because there is hope…" What's this hope that makes us secure? Nothing but our relationship with God who is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. The Christian can rest secure in God's mighty hands. Of course it is a matter of how much faith one has. God is always there but how much do we believe and trust in him? In the second part of this verse we read, "you will look about you and take your rest in safety." Look around us and there are happenings that startle us day in and day out. Calamities, catastrophies, murders and every kind of evil. But we can take our rest in safety knowing that the watchful eyes of the Lord are upon us. King David wrote, "I lie down and sleep and wake again for the Lord sustains me " (Psalms 3: 5) and also "I will both lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone O Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4: 8) God is good .You will be secure for Jesus is your hope. You will look about you and take your rest in safety because the Lord is with you always. |
