Whatever you do you will prosper
Blessed is the man who does
not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in
the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law
he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by
streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not
wither. Whatever he does prospers. (Psalms 1:1-3)
Here is a
wonderful formula suggested by the Psalmist for everyone who desires to
“Prosper in all aspects of one’s life”. The do not’s are 3 and the do’s are 2.
If you desire to
prosper, the Psalmist says,
This demands a
strict discipline in one’s life, not living according to the worldly ways, but
pleasing the Lord in one’s thoughts, words and deeds. A person who adheres to
the above requirements is an evergreen tree according to the Psalmist, healthy
and robust in all seasons. The Psalmist concludes that such a person will
prosper in all that he/she does.
There are some
who fail in everything they do. Everything they put their hands to turns into a
disaster. Some try several jobs, several businesses but encounter failure and
defeat everywhere. Here is a neat formula to change all that. God, not only
desires that we remain unspotted by the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and
the pride of life, but also be ones delighting in God’s Word and meditating on
it continually. Then the Bible says, “We will prosper in all that we do”. God
bless you.
